Logistics Manager:

Cherry Professional is recruiting a Logistics Manager for a successful, growing organisation operating within a distribution environment in South Nottingham.

This position is responsible for managing an outsourced Third-Party Logistics (3PL) partner and an internal transport function, ensuring inbound movements, depot distribution and final-mile delivery are completed safely, cost-effectively and in line with agreed service levels.

You’ll act as the key link between suppliers, internal depots/prep centres and external logistics partners, ensuring consistent delivery performance and clear operational control.

Key responsibilities:

• Own day-to-day SLA / KPI management across the transport network (on-time performance, demand visibility, service levels)
• Lead regular performance reviews with external providers, proactively mitigating risks and implementing corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with contracts, commercial terms and SOPs
• Manage inbound shipments and outbound delivery schedules, including oversight of documentation and import/customs processes
• Drive continuous improvement (route optimisation, cost reduction, efficiency gains)
• Oversee third-party warehousing/storage and inventory where applicable
• Maintain compliance with H&S, duty/trade requirements, customs and transport legislation

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years’ experience in logistics / supply chain / 3PL contract management
• Strong track record performance-managing third-party providers and handling conflicting priorities
• Process-led mindset with proven ability to implement reliable, scalable ways of working
• Comfortable working with ERP systems, spreadsheets and performance metrics
• Knowledge of ADR / transport regulations (advantageous)
