About the role

Key P.E Leader

First For Education is seeking a flexible and confident Key P.E Leader to support P.E staff in a well-regarded middle school in Brewood, rated Good’ by Ofsted.
This is a full-time, long-term position for the start of the academic year, ensuring all staff feel confident delivering high-quality PE lessons. This involves organising internal CPD, supporting colleagues in lessons, and signposting external training opportunities.
The school has a strong behaviour policy in place and a supportive senior leadership team, making it an excellent environment for a looking for a consistent role in Brewood.
 
Curriculum Development:
Interpreting the National Curriculum and designing an inclusive, progressive PE programme
 
 Role benefits:

Requirements:
PE leaders must be highly organised to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery of the subject.

  • Timetabling facilities (e.g. hall, playground, field)
  • Coordinating competitions and events
  • Managing external coaches and providers
  • Overseeing health and safety procedures
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through The Education Specialists

 
Supporting New and Experienced Staff
Another key responsibility of a PE teacher in a leadership role is mentoring others, especially new teachers.
Being a PE coordinator is more than just managing equipment and timetables. It’s about leading a vision for high-quality physical education that has a lasting impact
