Security Officer

A Security Officer to protects property, personnel, and visitors by maintaining a safe, secure environment through active patrolling, access control, and monitoring surveillance systems
. To respond to emergencies, enforce safety policies, and document incidents to prevent theft, violence, or infractions. Key skills include vigilance, communication, and emergency response.  Key Responsibilities

• Patrolling & Surveillance: Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols of internal/external areas, checking doors, windows, and gates. Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and security surveillance equipment.
• Access Control: Manage entry/exit points, verify visitor/staff identification, issue badges, and monitor deliveries.
• Incident Response: Act as a first responder to emergencies, such as fire, medical distress, or security breaches. Handle, report, and document suspicious behaviour, trespassing, or accidents.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed daily logs and incident reports (DORs) for management.
• Safety Enforcement: Ensure compliance with company safety policies, site rules, and, if required, manage crowds. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Licensing: Possession of a valid security license or registration (e.g., SIA in the UK).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for reporting and interacting with the public.
• Observation: High attention to detail to notice irregularities.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand or walk for long periods and work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with security technology, such as CCTV systems, metal detectors, or radio equipment.
• Certifications: First aid or CPR training is often required or preferred.
