About the role

Systems Assurance Specialist
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Systems Assurance professional to join a major infrastructure programme. Based in either London or Birmingham on a hybrid working arrangement, this role is ideal for someone with strong technical assurance expertise and experience in large-scale rail or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve assurance processes in line with project requirements
Coordinate and liaise between HS2 Ltd and contractors to maintain compliance
Oversee system-level assurance throughout the V lifecycle and across Level 1, 2 and 3 assurance stages
Create and complete the Technical Assurance Evidence Model (TAEM)
Ensure adherence to technical assurance principles including interface, configuration, quality, environmental, health & safety, BIM, consents, change control and risk management
Apply auditing standards and champion continuous improvement initiatives
Support integration of Artificial Intelligence to enhance the Technical Assurance Review (TAR) process

 
Must‑have Requirements

Extensive experience in systems assurance on large multdiscipline programmes (civils, M&E, architecture, rail systems, rolling stock)
Strong knowledge of the V lifecycle and assurance processes at all levels
IRCA‑certified Principal/Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 Quality standard
Experience implementing and managing quality, environmental and health & safety systems and frameworks on major infrastructure projects
Solid understanding of rail systems technical assurance principles
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders to maintain high assurance standards

 
Nice‑to‑have Skills

Additional IRCA certifications for ISO 14001:2015 Environmental and ISO 45001:2018 Health & Safety standards
Competence and experience in applying Artificial Intelligence technologies to support assurance processes
Knowledge of HS2 corporate values and equality, diversity and inclusion practices
