About the role
Salt are partnering with a non‑profit organisation and are looking for a Web Editor to join on a contract basis. Location: East London (hybrid working) Day Rate: £125-£130 per day (inside IR35) Duration: 5 months initially (ASAP start) About the Role: This is a contract opportunity within an internationally operating non‑profit organisation focused on education, culture and creative engagement. The Web Editor will support the delivery and optimisation of audience‑focused digital content across a large global web estate, ensuring content is accurate, accessible and aligned with organisational values and public‑benefit objectives. You'll work closely with marketing teams, programme leads and subject matter experts across multiple regions, shaping clear, engaging narratives and maintaining high editorial standards. The role combines hands‑on web editing with digital marketing best practice, using performance insight to improve user experience and content effectiveness. This is a fast‑paced environment requiring excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Responsibilities: Edit, develop and maintain high‑quality web content across a complex, multi‑market digital platform Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate specialist information into clear, audience‑focused content Apply SEO and digital content best practices to improve visibility, accessibility and user experience Monitor website performance using analytics tools and provide insight‑led recommendations Review and audit existing content to ensure accuracy, relevance and alignment with organisational objectives Stay informed on trends in education, culture and digital learning to inform content decisions Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across marketing, design and delivery teams Requirements: 3-7 years' experience in web editing or content management, ideally within education, culture or the non‑profit sector Proven ability to adapt content for diverse, international audiences Strong understanding of SEO principles and digital marketing strategies Experience using CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal Confidence working with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) to assess user behaviour and content performance Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to grammar, tone and consistency Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines Proactive, organised and collaborative approach Apply now to find out more. *Rates depend on experience and client requirements
