Business Development Manager — Drive Growth in Construction Training & Skills Development

What You’ll Do:

As a key player in our team, you will identify new business opportunities, foster lasting relationships with employers, and develop strategies to expand our sector presence. Your expertise will help shape the future of construction training and skills development, ensuring employers and learners benefit from innovative, tailored solutions.

Required Skills:

Proven success in sales within construction training, NVQs, apprenticeships, funded training, or related sectors
Strong construction sector knowledge, with experience selling training courses or services
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to confidently identify opportunities, hit targets, and manage multiple stakeholders
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and a proactive attitude

Nice to Have Skills:

Experience working with sectors such as rail or engineering, demonstrating relevant knowledge and sales capability
Familiarity with funding mechanisms, sector-specific regulations, or apprenticeship standards
Experience utilizing CRM software and sales analytics tools

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of successful business development experience in construction training, skills development, or similar fields

Other Requirements:

Willingness to work remotely and travel within Bedfordshire as needed for client meetings and industry events
Relevant certifications in sales, training, or sector-specific qualifications are a plus

Role Details:

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience
Performance-related bonus
Location: Bedfordshire (remote working available)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working pattern: Predominantly remote with travel as required
