Team Leader required for 3 Bed Children’s Home Oswestry Shropshire SY10
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a therapeutically minded and experienced Team Leader for a Children’s home in Redditch. We are looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic individual to join us on our journey, and who is committed to making our new Children’s house, a home.
Our sole objective is to provide a safe, nurturing, and homely environment for young people to develop and understand their full potential.
We know that success is built on belief. Our mission is to help young people learn the skills to live happily and independently.
This post is to cover Maternity Leave for 9-12 months However the likelihood is this will become a permanent position
Team Leader Salary
- Annual Salary £37810 + sleep ins
- Shifts 2 on 4 off 160 contracted hours per month
- Annual Leave: 28 days plus a paid birthday off
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychological and social needs
- of our children are met consistently to a high standard.
- Engage in probation, induction, supervision, staff meetings, learning and development
- and appraisal. Model professional conduct in all aspects of the role.
- Work in partnership with social workers, education, police, health, probation, and all
- other professionals in line with children’s needs and interests.
- The Senior Support Worker will work on a shift pattern including days, evenings, waking nights (when/if required),weekends, bank holidays, sleeping-in duties and, subject to risk assessment, lone working
- Must be willing and able to achieve or hold the NVQ Level 4 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent
- Knowledge and skills Senior Support Worker must hold minimum level 3 Qualification
- Worked in a Childcare setting (2 years minimum for Senior Support worker)
- Full Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and 9 standards.
- Working within Child Protection procedures & Safeguarding children procedures
- Understand impact of trauma on child development
- Direct work skills. Including handling conflict effectively
- Managing stress in self and others
- Good written and verbal communication and IT literacy
- Committed to achieving best outcomes for children
- Adaptive and solution focussed
- Parenting in a diverse community
- Able and willing to provide cover at other homes within reasonable distance as the needs of the children and the service requires
- Able to work required shift pattern -including sleeping-in
