Special Education Teacher – Relocation from UK

Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to teach students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will design and implement individualised education plans (EPs), foster a supportive learning environment, and equip students with the skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and in their future endeavours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to students’ strengths, needs, and goals.
• Deliver instruction in functional academics, social-emotional skills, and life skills using research-based practices.
• Collaborate with instructional assistants and specialists le.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behaviour therapists. Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed.

• Facilitate school-to-community transition planning for students.
• Integrate visual aids, hands-on activities, and explicit teaching methods to enhance learning.
• Foster opportunities for students to integrate into mainstream classes where appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license/equivalency with 3+ years teaching
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including cognitive and executive functioning challenges.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, functional academics, and transition planning.
  Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
