Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum + performance-based bonus

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established children’s residential care provider for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a 1-bed EBD children’s home based in Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious manager looking to take full ownership of a small, specialist setting supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The home operates as a solo placement, offering a focused, therapeutic environment where the Registered Manager can make a genuine and lasting impact.

You will be responsible for the full operational management of the service, ensuring the highest standards of care and maintaining full compliance with Ofsted and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the children’s home
• Ensure full compliance with Ofsted requirements and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
• Deliver high-quality, child-centred care using a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach
• Lead, support, and develop the staff team through recruitment, supervision, and training
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are robust and consistently followed
• Maintain strong relationships with external professionals, local authorities, and families
• Prepare for and lead during Ofsted inspections
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments, incident management, and documentation

Candidate Requirements

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up
• Proven experience supporting children with EBD and complex needs
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory compliance
• Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Organised, resilient, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people
