Location: Midlands (CV23 area)
Salary: £15.40 per hour
Sleep-In Rate: £50.00 per sleep
Shift Pattern: 1 Day On, 2 Days Off (24-hour shifts)
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence Essential

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Residential Child Care Worker to join a specialist solo-placement children’s home in the Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support a young person who is settled, thriving, and receiving high-quality therapeutic care. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain outstanding standards, provide consistent support, and lead the team during your shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic, child-centred care that promotes emotional wellbeing, stability and positive outcomes.
• Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home.
• Ensure accurate completion of daily records, MAR charts and handovers.
• Help maintain an Ofsted-ready home that meets Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Mentor and support Residential Child Care Workers, promoting best practice and professional development.
• Encourage and support the young person to attend education, appointments, hobbies and community activities.
• Safeguard the young person by following all safeguarding policies and reporting concerns appropriately.
• Assist with care plan reviews, risk assessments and other key documentation.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Previous experience working as a Residential Child Care Worker or Senior Residential Child Care Worker.
• Good understanding of Ofsted regulations and children’s residential care.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Calm, resilient and professional approach to supporting young people.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
