About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a specialist education provider for a dedicated SEND PSHE Teacher to join their team in Taunton.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and additional learning needs within a nurturing, therapeutic education setting.

As a SEND PSHE Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) lessons that help pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence, emotional wellbeing, and essential life skills. Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will create personalised learning programmes that enable every learner to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality PSHE lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs to engage positively in education.
  • Promote confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Create personalised learning plans that encourage progress and achievement.
  • Prepare teaching resources and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community and multidisciplinary team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
  • Experience teaching PSHE.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • At least two years’ experience within a SEND school, specialist provision, or similar educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to delivering inclusive, engaging, and person-centred education.
