Location: East Heckington, Lincolnshire, PE20
Salary: £28,288 – £44,304 per annum
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting for a passionate SEND Vocational Studies Teacher to join a specialist education setting in East Heckington.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a supportive, trauma-informed environment. You’ll deliver engaging vocational lessons that help pupils build confidence, develop practical skills, and prepare for future employment and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive vocational lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach vocational subjects within Construction, Engineering, or Mechanics.
• Support pupils with SEND and SEMH using positive behaviour and therapeutic approaches.
• Work closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to maximise student progress.
• Develop individual learning plans, curriculum plans, and progress reports.
• Use evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions to support learning.
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.

Requirements

Essential

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working within a SEND school or similar specialist setting.
• Experience teaching Construction, Engineering, or Mechanics.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
