Nursery Room Worker

Location: New Cross, London
Salary: Up to £32,500 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Nursery Room Manager to join a well-established private day nursery in New Cross, London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident childcare professional looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will lead a nursery room while supporting the wider team to deliver outstanding care and early years education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of a nursery room.
• Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences for children.
• Support, mentor, and motivate colleagues within the room.
• Ensure the nursery meets EYFS requirements and maintains high standards of practice.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
• Monitor children’s learning and development, maintaining accurate observations and records.
• Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
• Support the nursery during inspections and quality assurance processes.

Requirements

Essential

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare.
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience working within a childcare setting.
• Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or similar leadership role.
• Experience supporting or participating in Ofsted inspections.
