Salary: £36,000 – £38,000 per annum (depending on experience) + £1,000 probation bonus

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established nursery in Mortlake, Richmond. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join a supportive team and help lead the delivery of high-quality early years education and care.

The Role

As Nursery Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring children receive exceptional care in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. You will support staff development, maintain high standards across the nursery, and help ensure compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operation of the nursery.
• Lead and motivate the staff team to deliver outstanding childcare.
• Ensure high-quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Support staff through coaching, mentoring and supervision.
• Monitor children’s development and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
• Assist with maintaining high standards for Ofsted inspections and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a senior role within a nursery or early years setting.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Passion for providing outstanding childcare and supporting children’s development.
• A caring, enthusiastic and professional approach.

Desirable

• Previous Deputy Manager or Room Leader experience.
• Experience supporting Ofsted inspections.
