Location: Winchester / Eastleigh
Salary: £26,805 – £27,464 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (including participation in an on-call rota)
About the Role
Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Project Worker to support adults who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse.
This rewarding community-based role involves providing practical and emotional support, advocacy, safety planning, and resettlement assistance to individuals living in the community or moving on from refuge accommodation. You will empower service users to rebuild their lives, improve their safety, and access the services they need to live independently.
Working closely with partner agencies, you will play a key role in helping individuals and families achieve positive outcomes while ensuring safeguarding remains at the heart of your practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one outreach support to adults affected by domestic abuse.
- Complete risk assessments, safety planning, and personalised support plans.
- Offer practical advice, emotional support, and advocacy.
- Support individuals moving on from refuge accommodation into the community.
- Manage a caseload, ensuring accurate records and regular case reviews.
- Work alongside Police, Social Services, Housing, Health professionals and other partner agencies.
- Attend multi-agency meetings, including MARACs, where required.
- Support clients to access housing, legal services, benefits, healthcare, and other community resources.
- Maintain accurate case records using a secure case management system.
- Participate in the organisation’s out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Promote safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults within a community, support or safeguarding environment.
- Experience carrying out risk assessments and developing support plans.
- Strong understanding of domestic abuse, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise workload effectively.
- Experience working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance.
- Strong IT and administrative skills.
Desirable
- Experience working within domestic abuse services.
- Knowledge of MARAC processes and multi-agency working.
- Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Community Support, or a related field.
