Payroll Specialist – CIPP Qualified

The RoleAs Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering an accurate and efficient end-to-end payroll service while ensuring compliance with current legislation and organisational policies. Working closely with HR and Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll accuracy and providing expert guidance on payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process monthly payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
    • Maintain payroll records and employee data in line with GDPR requirements.
    • Calculate statutory payments, pensions, deductions, overtime and other payroll adjustments.
    • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, payroll legislation and employment law.
    • Manage payroll queries, providing a high level of customer service to employees and managers.
    • Reconcile payroll reports and liaise with Finance regarding payroll journals.
    • Administer pension schemes, including auto-enrolment responsibilities.
    • Support year-end payroll activities, including P60s and other statutory reporting.
    • Assist with payroll audits and continuous process improvement initiatives.
    • Work collaboratively with HR to ensure employee changes are reflected accurately within payroll.


About YouWe're looking for a payroll professional who can demonstrate:

  • CIPD qualification (essential).
    • Previous experience managing end-to-end payroll within a busy environment.
    • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and statutory payments.
    • Excellent understanding of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
    • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the business.
    • A proactive approach with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
