IT Systems Engineer

Join a team as an IT Systems Engineer and help maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing IT systems that support critical business operations across multiple sites.

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to support and maintain core infrastructure and business systems within a multi-site environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of IT platforms while providing advanced technical support and contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives.

IT Systems Engineer Key Responsibilities

• Deliver second and third line technical support, resolving incidents and requests within agreed service levels.
• Maintain server, virtualisation, and network environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Support business-critical systems, including enterprise applications and associated integrations.
• Manage user access, security controls, patching, and endpoint protection activities.
• Monitor backup processes and system alerts to ensure data integrity and operational resilience.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system improvements.
• Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation and user guidance.

Key Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in an IT infrastructure or systems engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience supporting virtualised environments and networking technologies.
• Confident troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Location: Nr. Basildon, Essex, South-East England

Commutable from Essex, Suffolk, parts of Kent and East London

Salary: £35,000 per annum
