About the role

Our client is seeking either an experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to progress into registration to lead a brand-new children’s residential home.

The home is currently progressing through registration and will provide a therapeutic, child-centred environment for up to two children aged approximately 8–17 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing a new service, developing a positive culture, building a dedicated team, and creating an environment where children can achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the registration and opening of a new children’s residential home.
  • Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
  • Promote safeguarding and positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Recruit, lead, supervise and develop a high-performing staff team.
  • Maintain high standards of care, compliance and operational performance.
  • Develop positive working relationships with local authorities, families and external professionals.
  • Support continuous service development and quality improvement.
  • Create and embed a therapeutic, child-centred culture throughout the home.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting.
  • Either:
    • Previous Registered Manager experience, or
    • Significant Deputy Manager experience with the capability to progress into registration.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or Level 3 with active progression towards Level 5 (depending on experience).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, children’s legislation and Ofsted requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Package & Benefits

  • Competitive salary (DOE).
  • Opportunity to lead a brand-new children’s residential home.
  • Supportive senior leadership.
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent long-term career progression.
  • Potential opportunity for equity/shareholding for the right individual.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader, or an aspiring Registered Manager, to build a therapeutic children’s home from the ground up and play a significant role in its long-term success.
