About the role
Our client is seeking either an experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to progress into registration to lead a brand-new children’s residential home.
The home is currently progressing through registration and will provide a therapeutic, child-centred environment for up to two children aged approximately 8–17 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing a new service, developing a positive culture, building a dedicated team, and creating an environment where children can achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
Key Responsibilities- Lead the registration and opening of a new children’s residential home.
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
- Promote safeguarding and positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Recruit, lead, supervise and develop a high-performing staff team.
- Maintain high standards of care, compliance and operational performance.
- Develop positive working relationships with local authorities, families and external professionals.
- Support continuous service development and quality improvement.
- Create and embed a therapeutic, child-centred culture throughout the home.
Requirements
- Previous experience within an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting.
- Either:
- Previous Registered Manager experience, or
- Significant Deputy Manager experience with the capability to progress into registration.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or Level 3 with active progression towards Level 5 (depending on experience).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, children’s legislation and Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
