Senior Urban Designer

An opportunity has become available for an Senior Urban Designer to join a leading national architectural practice based in Birmingham. This award- winning practice name has a reputation for excellence across the industry. The Urban Designer will play a pivotal role within the residential team. The role will focus on a range of residential projects and would suit an Urban Designer with particular expertise in housing layouts. Employing a variety of skills and contributing to the design of new residential schemes, you’ll work alongside a team of established architects and designers and produce layouts for whole developments and conduct site appraisals. You’ll also work closely with technical team to ensure the design is deliverable. With full involvement in the life cycle of the projects you’ll take them from the conceptual phase to outline planning consent. The ideal candidate should have a background in urban design and previous residential experience. Masterplanning/ placemaking experience will ensure you can oversee the process and you should have a portfolio that demonstrates involvement in the layouts of housing projects. Experience of working for a large architectural practice would be an advantage.
