Junior Electrical Estimator

Overview

Atkins Search are currently working with a well-recognised M&E contractor to recruit a Junior Electrical Estimator to join their versatile and dedicated existing team.

Electricians looking to come off the tools into a new challenge will also be considered for this position.

Client

Based in Nottingham, our client holds over 100 years within the mechanical and electrical industry offering services on Commercial, Industrial, Heritage, Residential, New Build and Refurbishment Projects on behalf of major clients nationwide.

Role

As a Junior Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical works. Working closely with the senior estimating team and other departments, you will contribute to the successful tendering and delivery of diverse projects.

You will be working across a variety of sectors including Commercial, Retail, Leisure, and Residential. Working closely in a team of Engineers, Technicians and colleagues of various disciplines to manage the delivery of technically excellent, profitable projects for high profile public and private clients.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the estimation and pricing of projects up to the value of £3m
Working closely with a Senior Estimator in a close-knit Estimating team
Helping to price up all Electrical aspects of projects including Small Power, Fire, Lighting, Security and Access Control
Working on exciting projects across sectors including Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, Education, Hotels, Leisure, Manufacturing and Retail
Using the latest packages and technology to assure constant development
Person

Basic knowledge of electrical systems and installations (formal qualifications or relevant experience is advantageous)
Previous experience in estimating, preferably within the electrical or wider M&E sector, is desirable but not essential
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in using estimating software and MS Office, particularly Excel
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Enthusiasm to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment
