January Teacher Training Programme – Train as a Science Teacher

Teach In Qualified is a salaried programme to take graduates from Teaching Assistant to Qualified Teacher Status.

A fantastic secondary school in Hackney are looking for a science or engineering graduate to enroll on the Teach In Qualified programme – a 2 year journey where you start out as a Teaching Assistant and gradually build your responsibilities up to those of a class teacher, at the end you are a qualified teacher.

TIQ also gives you the chance to learn & progress at a rate that suits you – you will start as a Teaching Assistant & the first couple of terms will see you watch & learn from the teacher whilst also supporting the pupils with their work and then four terms of independent teaching. Alongside the training the school will give you, a leading SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training) provider will offer online learning content and put on seminars & training days during half terms so you are prepared for each phase.

As a TIQ graduate, you will work as a Teaching Assistant within the science department and shadow teachers – getting accustomed to the curriculum and teaching styles, before an evaluation with the SCITT provider and your school-based trainer will clear you to start teaching independently, from there, you will progress towards an end goal of Qualified Teacher Status
