We’re currently recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference to a child’s educational journey. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide dedicated support to a pupil, helping them access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential within the classroom.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil throughout the school day.

• Support the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development.

• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO and external professionals.

• Support pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.

• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.

• Implement strategies outlined within EHCPs and support plans where applicable.

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people.

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable.

• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils.

• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or additional learning needs is advantageous.

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
