Secondary Teaching Assistant | DN3

Provide Education is looking for a committed Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a school in the DN3 area on a temporary, long-term basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to help students engage with their learning and achieve their potential. Previous experience in a support role is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with students of different abilities.
• Patience, flexibility and a proactive approach.
• Confidence working alongside teachers and other support staff.
• The ability to encourage students who may need additional help with their learning or behaviour.
• A professional attitude and a commitment to safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

• Assist teachers with the day-to-day delivery of lessons.
• Support students individually and in small groups to improve understanding.
• Help students access learning activities and stay on task.
• Reinforce classroom expectations and support positive behaviour.
• Provide encouragement to help students build confidence and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to meet students’ learning needs.
• Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour procedures.
