About the role
The Raise Academy – Caretaker (Part-time)
Location: Halton (Widnes)
Salary: £24,826.00-£25,916.00 pro rata (actual salary starting from £16,775.00)
Closing date: 31.08.2026
Start Date: 1st September 2026
The Raise Academy is a new school which opened in September 2024. The school specialises in supporting pupils aged 11-16.
The Raise Academy pupils have the opportunity to be engaged in a wide range of vocational and practical subjects that will give them new opportunities to progress personally, socially and academically. The curriculum will be underpinned by high quality and supportive Maths, English and Science and all lessons will be taught in small classes of up to 8 pupils, with teachers, learning mentors and pastoral/teaching assistants.
This is a fantastic opportunity at our new SEMH school in Widnes to shape the school and transform the lives of children and those who look after them. Your key priorities will be:
Key Priorities;
- Locking and unlocking the buildings, as required.
- Assisting users with setting up facilities such as chairs, tables etc.
- Dealing efficiently with pre-planned maintenance, day-to-day establishment requirements and problems that may arise.
- Undertaking minor repairs to fixtures and fittings.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained to the required standard.
- Grounds maintenance.
- Assisting with the organisation of school refurbishments.
- Porterage around the school site/s.
- Monitoring the premises for any hazards, carrying out repairs or reporting problems, where necessary.
- Ensuring that all stakeholders adhere to the school’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
