About the role and school

Teach Plus are working with a welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest that is seeking a passionate Nursery Teacher to join its Early Years team from January 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about Early Years education and understands the importance of creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where young children can learn through play and exploration.

The successful candidate will support children’s early development, encourage communication and language skills, and help establish the foundations for a successful transition into Reception. You will work collaboratively with the wider Early Years team to deliver engaging learning experiences that support every child’s progress.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
• Support children’s development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
• Provide opportunities for learning through play and exploration
• Develop children’s communication, language and early literacy skills
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions
• Observe, assess and record children’s progress
• Establish a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Work closely with colleagues and communicate with parents and carers where appropriate

Qualifications/Experience

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is essential
• Experience teaching within an Early Years or Nursery setting
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework
• Knowledge of child development and play-based learning
• Strong planning, assessment and classroom management skills
• A patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
