About the role

About the team
The Marketing Communications team sits within the Communications and Engagement Directorate and leads the NMC's strategic communications activity. We create insight-led campaigns and compelling content that help people understand who we are, what we do and the impact we have.

Our work supports public confidence in nursing and midwifery regulation, drives engagement with key audiences and helps bring the NMC's strategic priorities to life. From digital campaigns and corporate publications to multimedia content, partnerships and events, we deliver communications that are clear, accessible and influential.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, we play a key role in shaping how the NMC engages with professionals, employers, partners and the public.
Your role and impact

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented communications professional who enjoys creating engaging content and bringing stories to life.

As a Communications Officer, you'll play an important role in delivering integrated communications campaigns that inform, engage and inspire. Working within a collaborative and creative team, you'll develop high-quality content across a variety of channels, including newsletters, digital platforms, corporate publications and multimedia products.

In this role you will help plan and deliver campaigns using recognised communications frameworks such as OASIS, ensuring activity is audience-focused, evidence-based and aligned to organisational priorities. You'll work closely with colleagues across the NMC, as well as external suppliers and partners, to create compelling communications that support our transformation programme and wider strategic objectives.

You'll also contribute to maintaining a strong and consistent NMC brand, ensuring content is accessible, inclusive and effective for diverse audiences. By measuring and evaluating campaign performance, you'll help us continually improve the way we communicate and engage with our stakeholders.

Joining us at a pivotal moment in our transformation journey, you'll help tell the story of how the NMC is evolving to become an even stronger, more responsive and inclusive regulator for the future.
What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong communications expertise with creativity, curiosity and a passion for engaging audiences.

You'll have:
  • Experience delivering communications campaigns and creating engaging content across multiple channels.
  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible and compelling content.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.
  • Experience supporting multimedia content, including video, digital or social media communications.
  • A good understanding of audience needs and a commitment to inclusive, accessible communication.
  • An organised and proactive approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact through communications that matter.

At the NMC, you'll help shape how we engage with nursing and midwifery professionals, employers, partners and the public at a time of significant organisational transformation. You'll be part of a supportive and ambitious team, working on varied and meaningful projects that help strengthen trust, understanding and confidence in our work.

If you're passionate about creating engaging content, telling compelling stories and delivering communications that make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
