About the role
We are looking for a Hybrid Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our growing data team. This is a highly impactful role focused on infrastructure, operations, and scalability rather than pure analytics. You will play a critical part in ensuring our streaming-first, self-service data platform is stable, reliable, and optimized for high performance, enabling teams across the business to make data-driven decisions.
This role requires strong cloud infrastructure expertise (GCP, BigQuery, Kubernetes) and experience in building and maintaining complex data platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize data platform infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.

Manage and evolve data pipelines (batch and streaming) ensuring robustness and low-latency delivery.

Own BigQuery optimization, including cost/performance tuning, schema design, and efficient query structuring.

Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting across data services and pipelines.

Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to enable self-service and effective use of data.

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker).

Support incident management and resolution for data-related outages or performance issues.

Ensure compliance, data governance, and security standards are adhered to within the data platform.
Requirements

Proven experience as a Data Platform Engineer / Infrastructure Data Engineer / DataOps Engineer.

Expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.

Strong knowledge of data pipeline technologies (e.g., Apache Flink, Spark, Beam, or equivalent).

Experience with monitoring and observability tools for data systems.
- Strong experience within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure etc

Understanding of data modeling, warehouse optimization, and cost management.

Proficiency in SQL and comfort working with large datasets.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, scaling environment with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have
-
Experience with DBT or similar transformation tools.

Strong experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform), especially BigQuery.

Exposure to Kafka or other event streaming platforms.

Background in distributed systems and high-throughput data environments.

Strong documentation and communication skills.
