Senior Backend Developer – Golang

We are partnering with a rapidly scaling international iGaming organisation as they establish a brand-new technology hub in Dubai. With major expansion underway across multiple markets, the business is rebuilding core systems from the ground up to support millions of users, high-volume transactions, and real-time gaming experiences.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with strong Golang experience to join our fast-growing engineering team in Dubai.

You will play a critical hands-on role in designing and building distributed backend services, high-performance APIs, microservices, real-time processing pipelines, and event-driven systems that power a large-scale iGaming platform.

This position is ideal for engineers who have worked in high-traffic environments, transaction-heavy systems, or complex distributed architectures—especially within iGaming, FinTech, Web3, or other data-sensitive industries.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Engineering

• Architect, design, and develop high-performance backend services using Golang.

• Build reliable, scalable microservices that serve millions of active users.

• Design and optimise REST/gRPC APIs, ensuring low latency and fault tolerance.

• Implement high-throughput, event-driven pipelines using Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar.

• Own system performance, observability, and reliability.

System Architecture & Scalability

• Contribute to the architecture of mission-critical systems:
  payments, wallets, player accounts, real-time odds, risk engines, integrations.

• Design systems for high availability, horizontal scaling, and global traffic distribution.

• Lead performance optimisation: caching, concurrency, load balancing, profiling.

Quality, Testing & Deployment

• Drive best practices in CI/CD, testing, and code quality.

• Write robust unit, integration, and load tests for high-traffic services.

• Collaborate closely with DevOps on cloud-native deployments and infrastructure.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work with front-end, mobile, data, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Mentor mid-level engineers and influence technical decisions.

• Participate in architecture reviews, sprint planning, and product discussions.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Experience

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.

• 3+ years professional experience with Golang in production systems.

• Strong background with distributed systems, microservices, and high-traffic architectures.

• Experience in at least one of the following industries:
  iGaming, FinTech, payments, betting, trading, or any real-time transactional platform.

• Deep understanding of:

  • Concurrency & parallel processing in Go

  • Event-driven architecture

  • SQL & NoSQL databases

  • Caching layers (Redis, Memcached)

  • Messaging queues (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ)

• CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Nice-to-Have

• Experience working in startup/scale-up or greenfield environments.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or cloud DevOps tooling.

• Familiarity with observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.

• Knowledge of risk, fraud, odds, or real-time gaming workflows.
