Country Manager – Tanzania

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing online sportsbook and casino operator seeking an experienced commercial leader to drive the continued growth of its Tanzania business.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll be responsible for scaling the business, increasing market share, improving customer acquisition and retention, and acting as the senior representative for the Tanzanian market.

Working closely with the Regional Director and central Marketing, Product and Operations teams, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the future success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial growth of the Tanzania operation.
• Develop and execute local acquisition, CRM and retention strategies.
• Drive player growth, revenue and market share.
• Build and maintain relationships with payment providers, affiliates, media partners and key local stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve product localisation, customer experience and operational performance.
• Manage local payment operations and ensure efficient deposit and withdrawal processes.
• Work closely with Product and Marketing teams to optimise promotions, campaigns and customer engagement.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify new commercial opportunities.
• Lead, develop and motivate a small local team (approximately 5–10 employees).
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and maintain strong relationships with relevant authorities.
• Act as the company’s senior representative within the Tanzanian market.

Essential Requirements

• Currently based in Tanzania.
• Proven experience within the online Sportsbook and/or Casino industry.
• Strong commercial and marketing background with a track record of growing revenue and player acquisition.
• Experience scaling an iGaming operation rather than simply managing an established business.
• Excellent understanding of the Tanzanian betting market, customer behaviour and competitive landscape.
• Experience working with CRM, player retention and promotional campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of local payment methods, including mobile money.
• Previous leadership experience managing small, high-performing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English

Desirable Experience

• Previous Country Manager experience.
• Strong Operations Manager or Marketing Manager looking to step into a Country Manager position.
• Experience launching new products, brands or markets.
• Existing relationships with affiliates, payment providers and regulators within Tanzania.
