About the role

Specialist Learning Support Worker (Secondary SEN)

Location: Chaldon, Surrey (Reigate/Caterham/Whyteleafe Area)

Following the successful inauguration of our purpose-built Secondary SEN facility in September 2025, we are formally inviting applications for a Specialist Learning Support Workers to join our founding cohort. This is a strategic appointment for an individual dedicated to the long-term academic and holistic development of students with complex neurodivergent profiles.

The Environment: A Multidisciplinary Clinical Model

Our institution caters to Key Stage 3 and 4 students (ages 11-16) presenting with complex requirements in social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing-primarily associated with the Autism spectrum.

Unlike traditional mainstream settings, our model integrates educational delivery with intensive therapeutic intervention. You will operate within a high-ratio staffing structure, collaborating daily with an internal team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Behavioural Specialists to ensure a synchronised approach to student progress.

Core Responsibilities
  • Pedagogical Support: Assisting in the delivery of a bespoke, adaptive curriculum; modifying resources in real-time to align with individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

  • Behavioural Analysis: Utilising evidence-based, positive reinforcement strategies to manage complex behaviours, focusing on root-cause identification and emotional co-regulation.

  • Professional Reporting: Maintaining rigorous records of student progress, contributing to multidisciplinary reviews, and providing data-driven feedback to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

  • Safeguarding Advocacy: Upholding the highest standards of student welfare, ensuring compliance with all statutory Child Protection and Safeguarding protocols.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a candidate who balances professional rigor with an adaptable, solution-oriented mindset.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Educational Foundation: GCSE Mathematics and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent) is mandatory.

  • Specialist Awareness: A sophisticated understanding of the barriers to learning associated with Autism and sensory processing disorders.

  • Resilience: The professional maturity to remain objective and composed when navigating high-acuity behavioural challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience within a Specialist Provision or Alternative Provision (AP) setting.

  • Familiarity with multicultural inclusion frameworks and trauma-informed practice.

Total Reward & Professional Investment

We recognise that specialist education requires a high level of professional dedication. In return, we offer a comprehensive institutional support package:

  • Professional Accreditation: Access to fully funded pathways for specialist SEN certifications and career-long CPD.

  • Clinical & Wellness Support: Membership in a Health Cash Back Plan, a confidential Employee Assistance Programme, and a structured, supportive peer-review culture.

  • Financial Benefits: Enhanced Pension contributions and Life Assurance.

  • Infrastructure & Perks: Access to the Bike to Work scheme, an optional Car Lease program, and complimentary on-site parking.
