Head of Litigation

A modern, boutique law firm is entering a significant phase of growth and is seeking an experienced Head of Litigation to lead and further develop its dispute resolution offering.

The Opportunity

The firm operates an innovative ABS and consultancy-led model, offering flexible working arrangements both nationally and internationally. With a hybrid structure combining consultancy and employed roles, the firm delivers a high-quality, client-focused service through a collaborative and supportive culture.

This is a senior leadership role working closely with the management team to shape the strategic direction and expansion of the Litigation department.

The Role

You will take ownership of the Litigation function, combining hands-on fee earning with strategic leadership, operational oversight and team development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the Litigation department on a day-to-day basis
• Supervising, mentoring and developing fee earners
• Driving departmental financial performance, billing and cashflow
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory, risk and quality standards (including Lexcel)
• Managing and growing a strong personal caseload
• Identifying, developing and converting new dispute resolution opportunities
• Cross-referring work and collaborating across the wider firm
• Leading business development, profile-raising and marketing initiatives

About You

You will be a seasoned Litigation solicitor with the credibility, ambition and leadership capability to head a growing department.

You will bring:

• 8+ years PQE in Litigation / Dispute Resolution
• Proven experience leading, supervising or growing a litigation team
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the legal market
• The ability to build and sustain a high-quality caseload independently
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
