About the role

Join Our Community: Level 2 Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Are you looking for a rewarding role where your care, patience, and commitment directly benefit children in our local area?

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing individual to join our supportive school team in the Merstham area, Surrey. If you are passionate about helping every child in our community reach their full potential within a safe and caring environment, this is the perfect opportunity.

A Role Built on Care and Connection

The main purpose of this role is to support the children with their learning and general wellbeing. You will be crucial in fostering a positive, safe, and nurturing atmosphere for every pupil.

  • Holistic Support: You will support children's learning and ensure they feel safe and able to learn and enjoy their time at school.

  • Welfare and Personal Care: A key part of the role involves ensuring a high standard of personal care and carefully monitoring the health and wellbeing of pupils. This includes attending to pupils' personal needs when required, such as toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating.

  • Community Contribution: You will contribute to the community life of the school by taking an active part in the preparation and celebration of both community and multi-cultural events.

  • Positive Behaviour: You will support positive behaviour and concentration levels, adopting a tailored approach to the individual child.

What We Look for in Our Community Partners

We value individuals who bring a strong sense of responsibility, patience, and a genuine desire to put the child first.

  • Attitude: A commitment to the role, the desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual. You should be positive and creative in meeting pupils' needs.

  • Experience & Knowledge: Previous experience (at least one year) of working within a relevant SEND Provision is required. Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures is essential.

  • Collaboration: A willingness to work co-operatively with colleagues, parents/carers and professionals involved. Good interpersonal skills are key.

  • Qualifications: Level 2 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent, or the willingness to work towards it.

Requirements and Commitment

As part of the Aurora Group, we expect everyone to behave and act in a way which promotes and contributes to the overall aims, values, and ethos of the Company.

  • Training: You will be required to participate in regular training and other learning activities, supervision, and appraisal.

  • Safeguarding: We take our responsibility for safeguarding seriously. You are required to attend regular safeguarding training and apply organisational policies and procedures.

  • Flexibility Note: While this is a committed role requiring staff to respond to the varying and changing needs of the school , availability and involvement in activities outside of the school and of the school day may occasionally be required.

If you are ready to be an active part of a caring educational community, we encourage you to apply today!
