English Graduate Tutor
Croydon | Full-Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, term time only
Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Duration: Until May / June 2027, dependent on examination schedules
Pay: £110-£120 per day, depending on experience

A highly successful secondary academy in Croydon is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic English Graduate Tutor to support students preparing for their GCSE and A-Level examinations. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine impact on student achievement while developing your own skills within a school environment.
The Role
Working closely with the English department, you will provide targeted academic support to Year 11 and Year 13 students through small-group intervention sessions designed to boost confidence, close knowledge gaps, and improve exam performance.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver focused small-group tuition across the English curriculum
Support GCSE and A-Level students with revision strategies and exam preparation
Explain English concepts in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner
Work alongside teaching staff to identify and address areas of weakness
Monitor student progress and provide encouragement and motivation throughout the exam period
The Ideal Candidate
Holds a degree in English
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is passionate about education and supporting young people to succeed
Can build positive relationships with students and colleagues
Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or school-based experience is desirable but not essential
