Are you an experienced Tax Manager looking for a new opportunity where you can take ownership of a varied tax workload and play a key role in the future of an established accountancy practice?
Castle Employment are working with an independent accountancy practice in the Harrogate area who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical tax knowledge, particularly in Inheritance Tax and Trusts, who enjoys being hands-on and wants to make a real impact within a practice.
With an experienced senior member of the tax team planning for retirement over the next few years, the business is taking a proactive approach to succession planning, allowing plenty of time for a structured handover and knowledge transfer.
The RoleThis is a dedicated tax position, with no accounts preparation responsibilities, offering the opportunity to focus entirely on tax compliance and advisory work.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied portfolio of tax clients, providing both compliance and advisory services.
• Advising clients on complex tax matters, particularly Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Trusts.
• Supporting clients with tax planning and identifying opportunities to provide additional advice.
• Managing tax compliance requirements and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing clear and practical tax advice.
• Working closely with experienced senior colleagues to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
• Taking a hands-on approach to tax work and supporting the wider team where required.

About YouWe're looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience working in tax within an accountancy practice.
• Has excellent technical tax knowledge, particularly in IHT and Trusts.
• Is confident managing tax compliance and advisory responsibilities.
• Enjoys getting involved in the detail and taking a hands-on approach.
• Has strong communication skills and is comfortable advising clients directly.
• Is organised, proactive and capable of managing their own workload.
• Is looking for a long-term opportunity where they can develop and take on greater responsibility.
