About the role

Class Teacher (SEMH) – Specialist Provision – Bordon, Hampshire – ASAP Start
We are working with a specialist provision in the Bordon area that is looking to appoint a Class Teacher on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible through to the end of the academic year.
This setting supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced disrupted education or require a more tailored, relationship-led approach to learning. Class sizes are small, with strong support staff presence, allowing for a more individualised and structured learning environment.
This is a role where building trust and consistency is just as important as delivering the curriculum. The school is looking for someone who can create a calm, engaging classroom where pupils feel safe, understood and able to re-engage with education.

The role will involve:

Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of needs
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to engage with learning
Working closely with Learning Support Assistants and pastoral staff
Managing behaviour through consistency, routine and positive relationships
Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to support individual development

About the setting:

Small class sizes with high staff-to-pupil ratios
Strong leadership team with a clear behaviour and support framework
Emphasis on structure, routine and relationship-building
Supportive environment where staff are valued and backed

Role details:

Full-time position
ASAP start
Ongoing role until the end of the academic year
Potential for longer-term opportunities

The ideal candidate:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching in SEMH, SEND or alternative provision (desirable)
Confident managing behaviour and building strong relationships
Adaptable, resilient and proactive

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Up-to-date safeguarding training
