Location: Plymouth, PL1
Rate: £21.14 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Assignment: Temporary position (26 October 2026 - 14 February 2027)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join a well established organisation on an initial four month temporary assignment.
Working as part of a busy HR team, you will provide a comprehensive HR advisory service across a wide range of employee matters, supporting managers and leaders with expert advice and guidance in line with employment legislation, organisational policies and best practice.

Working as part of a busy HR team, you will provide a comprehensive HR advisory service across a wide range of employee matters, supporting managers and leaders with expert advice and guidance in line with employment legislation, organisational policies and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice and support to managers on a broad range of general HR matters.
- Support organisational change projects, including restructures and TUPE transfers.
- Act as the HR Advisor on Employee Relations cases, attending hearings and appeals and providing guidance to Chairs throughout formal processes.
- Advise on disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management matters.
- Contribute to the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with current employment legislation and organisational requirements.
- Chartered Member of the CIPD, or CIPD Level 5 qualified and actively working towards Chartered Membership.
- Significant experience within a generalist HR Advisory role.
- Strong Employee Relations experience, with confidence supporting formal hearings and appeals.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Previous Local Government or wider Public Sector experience would be advantageous.
- Competitive hourly rate of £21.14 per hour
- Full-time, Monday to Friday working pattern
- Opportunity to contribute to meaningful organisational projects and employee relations activity
- Immediate start available, with a target commencement date of 26th October 2026
