The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Stroke Physician to support a leading NHS service in the South West.

This opportunity offers a 6-month locum contract, working 40 hours per week within a well-established Stroke Service. The role provides a varied and rewarding caseload across acute stroke care, rehabilitation services and rapid access stroke clinics.

You will be working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services while helping to deliver high-quality, patient-centred stroke care.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver consultant-led stroke care across acute and rehabilitation services.
• Provide clinical leadership within the Acute Stroke Unit.
• Manage stroke and medical patients.
• Support patient care within the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
• Conduct and support Daily Rapid Access Stroke Clinics.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, therapists and wider multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Contribute to safe, effective and high-quality patient care throughout the stroke pathway.

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Must be on the GMC Specialist Register.
• Relevant recent NHS experience at Consultant level.
• Experience in Stroke Medicine, Geriatric Medicine or a related specialty.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication and professionalism.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
