We are currently recruiting an adaptable Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming secondary school in Oldham on a flexible or long-term basis. In your role as a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classrooms across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, maintaining structure and keeping students engaged with pre-set work. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Leading classes across various secondary subjects in the absence of the regular teacher as a Cover Supervisor

• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies to maintain a positive learning environment in Oldham

• Ensuring students complete set tasks safely and effectively while offering guidance where needed

• Leaving detailed handover notes for returning teaching staff at the end of the day in Oldham

Requirements or Skills

• Experience managing groups of young people, such as a Cover Supervisor, youth worker, sports coach, or graduate tutor

• Clear communication skills and a confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management strategies

• Willingness to adapt and step into secondary classrooms across Oldham

• Excellent organisation skills and a practical approach to supporting pupil learning

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
