Milk Education is partnering with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Doncaster to recruit an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher for a full-time position starting in September. This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming department and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons in subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Education.

Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this role offers the chance to make a real difference while developing students’ curiosity, critical thinking and understanding of the world around them.

The Role

As a Secondary Humanities Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Humanities across KS3 and KS4, including subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Education.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment where all students can thrive.

  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching where needed.

  • Encourage students to think critically, explore different perspectives and develop a lifelong interest in Humanities.

  • Differentiate lessons to support the needs of all learners.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote excellent outcomes across the department.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and professional practice.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Humanities Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Humanities at KS3 and KS4.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • A passion for inspiring young people and raising student achievement.

  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education.
