Salary: £28,980 per annum + Quarterly Bonus

Working Pattern: 5 days across the week, including weekend availability

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager to join a well-established self-storage operation in Croydon London. This is a hands-on, customer-focused role where you will support the Store Manager in driving sales, maximising occupancy, delivering excellent service and ensuring the store runs smoothly and efficiently.

About the Role
The store is the operational heart of the business. As Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales and profit targets while ensuring every customer receives a consistently high standard of service.

You will also contribute to the presentation, cleanliness and overall effectiveness of the store. When the Store Manager is absent, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the achievement of the store’s financial, sales and occupancy targets
  
  
• Identify and recommend opportunities to increase occupancy and revenue
  
  
• Handle sales enquiries professionally by telephone and face to face, converting enquiries into bookings wherever possible
  
  
• Deliver excellent customer service and respond effectively to a diverse range of customer needs
  
  
• Supervise, support and motivate Customer Service Assistants, leading by example
  
  
• Take responsibility for the store in the Store Manager’s absence, including reporting financial and operational information to the Regional Manager
  
  
• Maintain a clean, safe, well-presented store at all times
  
  
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed for the benefit of customers and colleagues
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Confidence engaging with customers face to face and over the telephone
  
  
• Excellent listening skills and a genuine customer-service focus
  
  
• Attention to detail and the ability to work within procedures
  
  
• A proactive, self-disciplined approach with the ability to work independently
  
  
• Experience supervising or motivating a small team, ideally leading by example
  
  
• Confidence taking responsibility for store operations in the Manager’s absence
  
  
• Comfortable working alone at times, as well as within a small team
  
  
• A commercial mindset with an interest in sales, occupancy and revenue performance
  
  
• Flexibility to work 5 days across the week, including weekends where required
  
  
• Full product and service knowledge will be developed through induction and probation
