Hours: Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm

Pay: £107.71 per day

Milk Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children in their learning and development while becoming part of a friendly and supportive school community.

Primary School Teaching Assistant – Responsibilities

As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
Help pupils develop their literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum skills
Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement in learning
Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised classroom environment
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor pupil progress
Follow safeguarding procedures and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment

Primary School Teaching Assistant – Criteria

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Recent experience working with primary-aged children
• A Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A positive, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Local to Gateshead or surrounding areas – no relocation
