About the role
By joining the University of Lancashire, you’ll become part of a thriving community of talent that’s united by a shared vision – to transform the lives of our students and create prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Every colleague has a vital role to play in helping us achieve this vision.
About the role:
We are seeking to appoint a Dental Therapist to join the clinical supervisory team. The Position will be at Carlisle Dental Education Centre 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday), where you will work alongside other dental colleagues to provide clinical supervision for undergraduate students undertaking BDS and BSc Dental Therapy programmes. The teaching within the two programmes is highly integrated and the School operates primarily within a primary care framework. In addition to clinical supervision, duties will include engaging in wider teaching and assessment of undergraduate students and contributing to course administration.
About you:
You should have substantial experience of working as a Dental Therapist in a primary care setting, along with experience in clinical training and supervision of the dental team.
You should hold a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy, or a Degree in Oral Sciences or Dental Hygiene and Therapy. If you hold the diploma, you must be willing to undertake degree studies on appointment, which will be funded. Registration with the GDC as a Dental Therapist is essential.
An active networker, with excellent clinical and communication skills, you will have the ability to work well within a team and will be IT literate in the use of standard Microsoft packages. The work requires frequent travel to the Preston campus and hence you must have the ability to travel independently between sites.
Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview.
The role is advertised as a full-time role; however, part time roles and job shares can be considered.
