Building Control Surveyor

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Building Control Surveyor (all grades considered) on behalf of a unique Approved Inspector to be based anywhere between Swindon, Basingstoke and Southampton.

The Role:

This is a Building Control Surveyor opportunity (also able to offer Inspection only if preferred as they have a Plan Checking Team) where you will provide building regulations plan and site assessment services on both residential and commercial developments (albeit with a residential focus). The nature of your working is entirely flexible, typically travelling no more than 1 hour from home or in a local office with the team (hybrid working available). Workload is carefully managed to ensure each Surveyor has a sustainable work-life balance, which is a big part of why their staff-retention is so good.

Key Responsibilities:

· To deliver agreed procedures to provide effective building control services on a range of projects in terms of size and complexity

· Review of plans and other associated matters for compliance with building regs and associated legislation

· Delivery of site inspections and testing of building works for compliance with building regs and associated legislation

Person Specification:

· Proven relevant industry experience within a Building Control environment, carrying out plan checking and site inspections and managing your own projects

· Full of part Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE or CIOB

· Extensive knowledge and application of Building Regulations, AI regs and associated legislation

· Full UK Driving Liscence and use of a car
