Document Controller – South West England

Tier 1 Main Contractor

I am recruiting a Document Controller to join a Tier 1 main contractor in the South West of England. Candidates from any construction background will be considered, with knowledge of 4Projects (4P) and Viewpoint essential.

You will manage project documentation and support design and site teams, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and issued on time. Working closely with consultants and subcontractors, you will maintain clear records throughout the project, from initial submissions through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Upload, issue and track drawings, specifications and project documents using 4Projects and Viewpoint.

• Maintain document registers, revision records and approval statuses.

• Ensure documents follow the required naming conventions and revision procedures.

• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.

• Follow up on outstanding submissions and ensure teams have access to the latest information.

• Support the collation of as-built records, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation.

Requirements

• Previous document control experience within construction.

• Knowledge of 4Projects and Viewpoint.

• A good understanding of drawing revisions and document management processes.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Confident communication skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

• Competence in Microsoft Office and a proactive approach to supporting project teams.
