People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Labourer (Waste Management) to join our well-established client based in Prees, Shropshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering ongoing work, weekly pay, overtime opportunities and the potential to secure a permanent position within an established waste management operation.

This is a hands-on, physically active role involving waste sorting, recycling and general site duties. We are looking for reliable, hardworking candidates who are comfortable working in a busy waste processing environment.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as a Waste Operative, Recycling Operative, General Labourer, Waste Sorter, Yard Operative or Warehouse Operative.

Shifts

 • 07:00–17:00
 • Working days to be confirmed
 • Overtime opportunities available

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Labourer (Waste Management), your duties will include:

 • Sorting household, commercial and trade waste for processing
 • Manually separating recyclable materials and different waste types
 • Loading and organising recycling bins
 • Processing waste materials in line with site procedures
 • Keeping waste processing areas organised and tidy
 • Moving and positioning bins in designated areas
 • Wearing the required PPE and following site safety procedures
 • Supporting general labouring and site operations
 • Completing additional duties as required by management

Essential Skills

As a Labourer (Waste Management), you will need:

 • Full UK driving licence and own transport due to the site location
 • Willingness to undertake physical, hands-on work
 • Good communication skills
 • Strong attention to detail
 • Good organisational skills
 • Reliable and self-motivated attitude
 • Ability to multitask and follow instructions
 • Flexibility to undertake a variety of duties
 • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable Experience

 • Previous waste management or recycling experience
 • Experience in general labouring, warehouse or yard operations

Training Provided

 • Full training on company policies and procedures
 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
