Job Type: Part-time / Weekend Work
Working Pattern: Saturday and Sunday, with additional shifts subject to availability
Salary: £18.00 - £22.00
Early am, Afternoon pm and Night starts
Aspion are looking for a reliable, professional and safety-conscious Class 1 HGV Driver to join a transport operation based in Haydock, working weekends.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, completing deliveries and collections in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures. The ideal candidate will be flexible, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards of driving and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV in line with road traffic legislation and company procedures.
- Complete deliveries and collections on time and in accordance with planned routes.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly.
- Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
- Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and electronic proof-of-delivery documentation accurately.
- Comply with drivers’ hours, tachograph regulations and Working Time Regulations.
- Maintain regular communication with the transport office regarding progress, delays or any issues.
- Provide a professional and courteous service to customers and site personnel.
- Keep the vehicle clean and report any maintenance requirements.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and report accidents, incidents and near misses.
Essential Requirements
- Full, valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid digital tachograph card.
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and road transport regulations.
- A strong commitment to road safety and vehicle compliance.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts as required.
