About the role
Primary Teaching Assistant – Swadlincote
Start Date: September 2026 – Duration: Until end of the half term, with strong potential for extension

About the Role
In this role, you will actively support teaching and learning across the entire primary phase, from Early Years to Key Stage 2. You will:

Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities

Support pupils with reading, writing and maths at various ability levels
-
Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and supportive classroom environment
-
Provide focused 1:1 and small-group interventions when needed
-
Encourage pupils’ social, emotional and academic growth
-
Assist with classroom organisation, resources and ongoing assessments
The Ideal Candidate
We prefer candidates with a Level 3 qualification in childcare, education or a related field. Additionally, you should have experience supporting children in a school or similar setting. You will also bring:

Clear and confident communication skills

A patient, positive and proactive attitude

Effective behaviour-management strategies

The ability to collaborate well with teachers and support staff

Flexibility and enthusiasm for working across different age groups

A solid understanding of safeguarding and child development
