HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver – South Cerney

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers to join a growing waste and recycling operation in South Cerney and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering stability, great earning potential, and long-term progression within refuse and recycling services.

This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Refuse Truck Driver.

Shifts:

•  Monday to Friday
•  06:30 start times

Rates of Pay: £16.00 to £18.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver, your duties will include:

•  Carrying out full daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
•  Driving the refuse vehicle safely along assigned collection routes
•  Operating bin-lifting equipment to empty waste and recycling containers
•  Working safely as part of a collection crew and following loading signals
•  Ensuring all waste is collected efficiently and routes are completed
•  Following strict health and safety procedures at all times, especially in public areas
•  Recording and reporting issues such as missed bins, contamination, or access problems

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will need:

•  A valid UK Category C Licence
•  A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
•  No more than six penalty points for minor offences
•  Reliability, professionalism, and punctuality
•  Good communication and customer service skills
•  Understanding of road safety and compliance
•  Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding role

Desirable Experience:

•  Previous multi-drop delivery experience
•  Previous experience driving HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver vehicles in waste management or a similar environment
•  Experience working in outdoor or physically demanding roles

Training:

•  Full industry-related training provided
•  Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
