HGV Class 1 Driver – Doncaster

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Doncaster.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This role is ideal for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers looking for consistent day-shift work.

This role may be suitable for candidates with experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend work available
• Start times between 04:00 and 08:00

Pay Rate:

• £17.00 per hour (Monday to Friday)
• £18.00 per hour (Weekends)

Day to Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

• Completing Class 1 multi-drop deliveries
• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to UK road traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

The skills required to be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience driving Category C+E vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsement codes
• Valid UK Driver CPC Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

Previous experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver would be beneficial.

• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
• Multi-drop delivery experience

Training:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
• Ongoing industry-related training and support
