About the role

Are you the kind of person who keeps everything organised, stays one step ahead and makes sure nothing slips through the cracks?

We are seeking an organised, proactive and reliable Engineer Support Administrator to provide administrative and operational support within an engineering-focused business.

The role will support the smooth running of day-to-day operations through effective administration, planning, coordination and document management.

The successful candidate will be confident communicating with colleagues and external stakeholders, capable of managing their own workload and proactive in following up on outstanding tasks without constant supervision.

Your responsibilities within your new role as a Support Administrator

You'll play a key role in keeping day-to-day office and operational activities running smoothly, providing essential administrative support across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing general office administration, including telephone enquiries, emails, correspondence and office supplies.
  • Supporting operational activities by maintaining reports, paperwork, checklists, timesheets and associated records.
  • Coordinating schedules, planned absences, travel and accommodation arrangements.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, filing systems, certification and business records.
  • Assisting with incoming enquiries, quotations, tender administration and estimating activities.
  • Maintaining records relating to vehicles, equipment, instruments, uniforms and personal protective equipment.
  • Monitoring training records, qualifications, site access cards and certification renewal dates.
  • Coordinating sample records, laboratory submissions and associated documentation.
  • Checking and processing expenses, timesheets and supporting paperwork.
  • Liaising with colleagues, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure information is accurate, deadlines are met and outstanding actions are completed.

Your personality, experience and qualifications

  • Strong organisational, administrative and time-management skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and prioritise competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Confidence communicating professionally with people at all levels.
  • The ability to manage deadlines, resolve routine issues and follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Previous administrative experience is desirable.

Experience within engineering, construction or a related technical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
